Phonxay Keokham, San Joaquin Treasurer-Tax Collector, announces a new property tax assistance program to San Joaquin County homeowners who fell behind on their home property taxes due to financial hardship they experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eligible homeowners could receive up to $20,000 to cover past due property tax payments and it does not need to be repaid. Funding from the California Housing Finance Agency program will be provided to qualified delinquent homeowners on a first-come, first-serve basis until funds are depleted.
The Treasurer-Tax Collector recommends San Joaquin County homeowners who are delinquent or defaulted on their property taxes to visit camortgagerelief.org or call 1-888-840-2594 to get more information and to apply.
