Know Your Zone

Knowing your zone is critical in an emergency. To ensure residents are equipped with timely, accurate information, the San Joaquin County Office of Emergency Services launched Know Your Zone - an interactive map tool used by public safety agencies and city officials to prepare residents in the event of an evacuation.

This map is a real-time emergency management mapping tool specialized for locations throughout San Joaquin County. It allows first responders to quickly identify areas for evacuation warnings and orders and provide residents, businesses, and visitors with timely critical information for impacted zones.

Find Your Zone

Simply type your street address into the search field to find your zone.

Each zone in San Joaquin County has a unique identifier — like SJC-001. Zone codes are made up of letters and numbers. The three letters identify where you live — for example, Stockton zones start with STO, while unincorporated areas use SJC. Each area is further subdivided into numerical zones. Residents are urged to Know Your Zoneby searching their address on the Perimeter Map to find their specific zone code.

 "Know Your Zone" means learning your zone code today, checking its status on the Perimeter Map during an emergency, and staying alert for protective actions issued in the event of an emergency.

Keep your Zone Information Accessible

Write down your zone and keep it somewhere easily accessible during an emergency, such as, on the fridge, in your wallet, in your phone, and in an emergency bag.

Be Prepared for an Evacuation and Sign Up for Alerts

During an active emergency, evacuation zones will appear on the map.

Evacuation routes are incident-specific. During an evacuation, follow instructions from public safety personnel to find the safest route.
